2007 Needy Kids Shopping Christmas Shopping Spree

Needy Children’s Shopping Spree at Buena Park Mall
Over 150 happy Kids could be seen on Saturday December 8th at the annual Children’s Shopping Spree in Buena Park. This event brings local service clubs together in a unified effort to help needy children.
The location was Buena Park Downtown. Starting at 8AM over 100 volunteer shoppers helped in the wise selection of new clothing for the children.
The needy students were selected by their schools and matched with a volunteer shopper. The shoppers were contributors, local dignitaries, adult service club members and high school Interactors.
The Rotary Interactor volunteer’s numbered over 50 and represented three clubs. Buena Park High Interact, Savanna High Interact and Villa Park High Interact. Each of the clubs presidents were among the volunteers. These young adults were great shoppers helping the youngsters.
The needy children could spend $110 at Sears for clothes and then each received a pair of shoes from Pay-less shoe store. The last stop was with Mr. & Mrs. Santa Clause where they received a goodie bag and a Knott’s “Berry Farm” pass.
Many Buena Park service clubs were involved with donations and provided volunteers. This Year Buena Park Rotary was the lead Club and Baron Night was the coordinator. We thank the Soroptomists Club for manning the registration table again this year.
