Starting in 2007 Rotary International has a new award called the “Family and Community Service Award” it recognizes the efforts and contributions of Rotarians, and non-Rotarians. This award is an honor that Rotary clubs may confer upon individuals or organizations for outstanding service to families and communities. It is a good way for clubs to celebrate and recognize members of the family of Rotary, and promote Rotary in the community…………………………………..
Buena Park Club is proud to announce the first two honorees for the Family and Community Service Award; Christiane Salts & Don Prescott. Both of these Rotarians are great examples of the Rotary Motto “Service-Above-Self.”
Don Prescott is our clubs youth advisor to Buena Park High School. He works with the High School Interact Club and Culinary Arts Students. Don’s efforts are greatly appreciated by the Students and the community. Don is the General Manager of Knott’s Resort Hotel.
Christiane Salts is one of our most active participates in clubs projects; she is also Executive Club Secretary. Christiane can be seen mentoring students and networking for Rotary. She is a Master Teacher in the Norwalk-La Mirada School District. Christiane is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow and a life member of the Girls Scouts.
