Sara French Honored
On Monday, February 10th at the Anaheim Rotary Meeting, Sara French received the prestigious “Cliff Dochterman Award.” Ms. French has a long history of volunteering in Scouting. Sara is currently the Rotary District 5320 Interact Chairman.
Sara was born and raised in Anaheim. She has a husband and two beautiful daughters and two older step children. She has helped manage the family business for twenty years. When in school, she was both a Girl Scout and an Explorer.
When her girls were old enough to join scouts, she became a leader. Over the years, Sara led brownies, juniors, and cadettes. She continues to be a parent volunteer for the senior troop “Horizons” in Anaheim.
She joined Rotary in 2004; where she has worked with the High School Interact clubs since then. Anaheim Rotary has 3 interact clubs (Magnolia the oldest, Katella and Loara). For two years she was an area advisor for District 5320, currently she is Interact Chairman for the district.
She attended RYLA for 3 years and served for two year as a committee member.
She claims she will always be thankful to Rotary for these experiences. Sara recalls one very special memory when she mentored a very special young lady in the 10th grade, who is now a sophomore at Berkley. She won a full scholarship and was also the recipient of the Spurgeon award
She teaches a preschool class every Wednesday evening during the school year in a bible-based church program. This year she also started teaching the 1-3rd grade Sunday School class.
Sara is a very positive role model for youth. Her encouragement and understanding has motivated many of our local youth to achieve their dreams..
Sara volunteers as a TA for Rotary Youth Leadership Awards camp each year.
Sara was nominated by her Anaheim Rotary Club, recommended by OC Boy Scout Council and the International Fellowship of Scouting. We salute Sara French for great efforts working with youth.
