Rotary District 5320 Interact Club of the year 2007-08
Buena Park High Interact Club is number one
Buena Park High School’s Interact Club received Rotary District 5320’s Club of the Year Award.
The award was given in Orange at the Doubletree Hotel on Tuesday evening May 6th.
This Service Club is very involved on campus and in the community. These High School students are doing good things for us all.
On Wednesday May 7th, the Club Officers were honored at a luncheon held at Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant. Rotary President Shailesh Shah honored the students for their many achievements. In attendance were OC Supervisor Chris Norby, Principal Dr. Ben Wolf, AP Dr. Greg Buckner, Rotary AG Steve Chen. Rotarian Dennis Salts, detailed some of the Buena Park Coyotes Interact Clubs activities.
A partial list: Children’s Christmas Shopping Spree , Scouting for Food for the needy, Operation One Family (helping the families of our soldiers who has been killed in the Iraq & Afghanistan conflict), helping set up the Police Open House, volunteering at beach cleanup, and helping at a senior care facility. On campus, the club developed a project for Red Ribbon Week and participated in the annual food fest.
Their outstanding advisors are Barbara Crampton, Rosemarrie Whitaker, Don Prescott and Dr. Elizabeth Swift. President Shailesh Shah said ”I want to Thank the Buena Park High Coyote Interact members for Leading the Way in community service.”
Buena Park Interact has a team of fourteen members attending the Rotary International Convention in LA this June. They will be helping in the House of Friendship and enjoying all the great benefits of being in the Family of Rotary. Buena Park Rotary Club
