Mrs Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant turns 75

On June 13th 1934, Walter & Cordelia Knott started serving chicken dinners with, homemade biscuits, mashed potatoes, at their Family Berry Farm. The Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant was born, and would be the catalyst for what is now; a 185 acre vacation Destination. It is a story that truly exemplifies the best in American ingenuity, determination, and dedication. On June 13, 2009 a 75th Anniversary Luncheon was held at the Mrs Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant. Marion Knott daughter of Walter & Cardelia was the keynote speaker. In attendance were Knott family members and current and former Restaurant employees. The entrée was of course Chicken. Local Historians, news media, politicians, were on hand. Of particular interest was a new display in the entrance of the Restaurant which contains historic pictures & memorabilia.
