Buena Park Rotary selected their Chili Cook-off Team for 2011 at Buena Park High School Sept 28 The City of Buena Park has a family friendly event in October at William Peak Park. The event was started many years ago as Western Days by the Rotary Club and other local organizations. Today it is called Silverado Days and the city supports this event with resources. Silverado Days runs from Friday Oct 14 thru Sunday Oct. 16 this year. Many clubs and local organizations participate.
The lead club is the Buena Park Noon Lions.
Each year Buena Park Rotary selects a Chili Cook-off Team at Buena Park High School. Rotarian Barbara Crampton and her Culinary Arts students organize a multi team competition at which we pick who will represent BPHS and Rotary at the Silverado Cook-off. This year we had 9 teams complete. The winning team was
Amazon Chili: Team Members are Andy Nguyen, Michael Bonilla, Edgardo Sorto, Ernesto Gomez,and Jonathan Garcia. The Rotary Judges this year were: Moses Barrios, Denny Baron, Karla Galindo, Virginia and Kenny Vaughn, Baron Night, Dennis and Christiane Salts
We encourage everyone to come out and enjoy this county fair-like family fun event, and to support the Buena Park High Team on Sunday October 16th. The event is free.
