Buena Park Rotary Literacy Project to benefit new Moms.
Buena Park Rotary provided the funds for books and supplies.

“Reading to newborns helps brain development and increases chances for future success!”
Buena Park Rotary President Dr. Elizabeth Swift has spearheaded a project to support Buena Park moms of newborns and to highlight the importance of early literacy. This Rotary project is in collaboration with the Acacia Quilt Guild, Buena Park Woman’s Club, and the Centralia and Buena Park School Districts. Book Bags containing resources will be given to new Buena Park moms by local hospital staffs. The fabric bags made by the Acacia Quilt Guild contain a valuable parent resource guidebook, an article about baby brain development, an animal baby board book purchased from Barnes and Noble, and information about local school districts and other resources.
